Norris faced Waverly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Titans skirted past the Vikings 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Titans sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Bryce Fountain made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Fountain was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other pitching news, Eli Starner looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits.

Fountain wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Crogg, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Kaden Fredenburg also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Norris pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waverly, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Norris didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 loss against Pius X on the 31st. As for Waverly, they have also already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Elkhorn on the 1st.
