Softball Game Preview: Corinth Holders Pirates vs. Rolesville Rams

The Corinth Holders Pirates will face off against the Rolesville Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corinth Holders will be strutting in after a victory while Rolesville will be coming in after a loss.

Rolesville will be up against a hot Corinth Holders team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Corinth Holders came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Apex Friendship.

Pyper Vardy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Rolesville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against Clayton, falling 8-1.

Rolesville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Careyette, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that Careyette scored this season.

Rolesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Corinth Holders, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
