Recap: Copley Indians vs. Revere Minutemen
Even though the Copley Indians have not done well against the Revere Minutemen recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for Copley in a 56-37 win over Revere. Given Copley's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Revere is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Izzy Callaway was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for her. Kami Ayoup was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Copley pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.57 points. As for Revere, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Copley will face off against Solon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Solon is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Revere, they will head out on the road to face off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
