Softball Recap: Hampton Bays Baymen vs. Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats
Hampton Bays hadn't done well against Shoreham-Wading River recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Baymen came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 8-3. This was payback for the Baymen, who suffered an 11-0 loss the last time these two teams met.
Emma Grunewald made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. Grunewald was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
