Baseball Game Preview: Lafayette Rams vs. Denbigh Patriots

The Lafayette Rams will head out on the road to take on the Denbigh Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lafayette's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lafayette came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to Tabb.

Meanwhile, Denbigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hampton.

Denbigh saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Caez-Rodriquez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The Patriots are 2-1 when Caez-Rodriquez posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise.

Lafayette's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Denbigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lafayette has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Denbigh struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
