Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Lions vs. Payton College Prep Grizzlies

Lincoln Park is 0-6 against Payton College Prep since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Lincoln Park will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Friday, Lincoln Park had just enough and edged out Prosser 2-1.

Lincoln Park was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (66-63), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-23, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Payton College Prep didn't have quite enough to beat Chicago Washington on Thursday and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Payton College Prep sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 22-25, 27-25.

Lincoln Park pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Payton College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Lincoln Park came up short against Payton College Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 2-0. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
