Gideon has gone 9-1 against Risco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bulldogs will take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m.

Gideon is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Bernie just ended the team's 15-match winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Mules by a score of 3-2. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Mules since Monday.

Gideon actually scored more points across those five sets (110-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 27-25, 18-25, 20-25, 27-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Risco was able to grind out a solid victory over North Pemiscot on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Risco was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14.

Risco's win bumped their record up to 18-9-2. As for Gideon, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 24-2.

Gideon beat Risco 2-0 when the teams last played last Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
