Softball Recap: Cedar Find Success

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cedar walked away with it. They skirted past the Orem Tigers 4-2. The Reds haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Blackner, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. Kyla Johnson also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Cedar's victory bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Orem, they moved to 17-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cedar beat the Tigers by a score of 11-8 on Friday.
