Volleyball Recap: Birdville Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

If Canyon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Birdville, they should've done a better job of containing Makena Wharton. The Hawks came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Saturday thanks in part to Wharton, who had 12 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Birdville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Birdville will square off against Boswell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on September 2.
