Softball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Manchester can now relate to. They fell just short of the Glen Allen Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Manchester saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Winiarski, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Manchester has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Glen Allen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Jaguars beat Manchester by a score of 3-2 later that day.
