The Vero Beach Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Pahokee Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Vero Beach comes in on seven and Pahokee on three.
If Vero Beach beats Pahokee with 42 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Indians took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over Rockledge. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Raiders are ranked 125th).

Efrem White had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 65 yards and one score on only five carries. Latravious Woods also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Pahokee over Forest Hill in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Blue Devils blew the Falcons out of the water with a 40-0 final score. The game marked the Blue Devils' most dominant win of the season.
Pahokee's win came from a few key players Vero Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Samuel Arnold, who rushed for 123 yards on only 13 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Xavier Mitchell, who threw for 105 yards and one TD on only five passes.
Pahokee's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 8.5 times. Antonio Simpson was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 sacks himself. Another thorn in Forest Hill's side was Ricky Gary, who picked up a sack, made five total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended two passes.
Vero Beach's record is now 7-0. As for Pahokee, their record now sits at 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Vero Beach has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Pahokee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 246.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Vero Beach beat Pahokee 27-20 in their previous matchup back in September of 2018. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
