Volleyball Recap: Potosi Victorious

Potosi won the last time they faced Benton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chieftains came out on top against the Zephyrs by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chieftains.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Potosi's offense was headlined by Alayna Kerkhoff and Manhattyn Udelhofen, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Emily Schaefer and her 24 assists. Finally, Lillian Cooley kept Potosi's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Several Zephyrs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Auderer, who had 20 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Davis, who had six digs and two aces.

The victory got Potosi back to even at 11-11. As for Benton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Potosi will take on rival Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Benton is set to square off against their familiar foe Belmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
