Softball Recap: Palmetto Ridge Comes Up Short

If Palmetto Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Lely two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palmetto Ridge Bears fell 8-3 to the Gulf Coast Sharks on Thursday. The game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Felicity Solorzano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Palmetto Ridge now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Gulf Coast, their record now sits at 7-1.

Coming up, Palmetto Ridge will challenge Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmetto Ridge is facing Naples at the right time seeing as Naples is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gulf Coast, they will square off against Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Barron Collier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.3 runs per game this season.
