Volleyball Game Preview: Corsica/Stickney Jaguars vs. Lower Brule Sioux

The Corsica/Stickney Jaguars will challenge the Lower Brule Sioux at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Corsica/Stickney took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Scotland. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-16, 25-7.

Corsica/Stickney relied on the efforts of Cali Vanden Hoek, who had 12 digs, and Remi Nelson, who had 14 assists. Vanden Hoek is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Corsica/Stickney was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Lower Brule rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Cowboys 3-0. The Sioux not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 25-9.

Corsica/Stickney's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Lower Brule, their victory bumped their record up to 13-17.
