It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but South Fayette ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Chartiers Valley Colts 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

South Fayette now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Chartiers Valley, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

South Fayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
