Softball Game Preview: Animo Venice Pirates vs. Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise Wolves

Animo Venice has gone 8-2 against Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Wolves at 3:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise will be up against a hot Animo Venice squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 11. The Pirates put the hurt on Stella High Charter Academy with a sharp 18-5 win on Monday.

Yulianna Cardenas was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sable Guerrero, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Animo Venice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise made easy work of Animo Watts on Thursday and carried off a 23-14 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Animo Venice pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.6 runs over those games. As for Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Everything went Animo Venice's way against Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise when the teams last played back in March, as Animo Venice made off with a 16-1 victory.
