Softball Game Preview: Eastern Vikings vs. Rancocas Valley Red Devils

Eastern is 1-9 against Rancocas Valley since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Red Devils at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.

Eastern will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Bishop Eustace Prep on Monday. The Vikings never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Rancocas Valley got the win against Cherry Hill West on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Rancocas Valley, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.

Eastern suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Rancocas Valley in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
