Baseball Recap: Buckfield Takes a Loss

Buckfield had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Sacopee Valley Hawks by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bucks have suffered since April 11th.

Gabe White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

As for Sacopee Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games.

On Sacopee Valley's side, not much got past Chase Parker, who gave up just a hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Buckfield off the board.

On the hitting side, Sacopee Valley's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braiden Croteau, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. That's the most hits Croteau has posted since back in April of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckfield will venture away from home to square off against Telstar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sacopee Valley, they will head out to face off against Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
