Basketball Recap: Falmouth Comes Up Short

Falmouth managed to keep up with Somerset Berkley Regional until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Falmouth Clippers were beaten by the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders 76-46. The Clippers haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Somerset Berkley Regional's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dom Taylor, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Taylor now owns an excellent 40.7% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Colten Pacheco, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 20 points.

Falmouth's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Falmouth won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against King Philip Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset Berkley Regional is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.
