Okeechobee had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cardinal Newman Crusaders 2-0. The Brahmans were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Crusaders, so the Brahmans were just returning the favor.

The result came thanks to Carsen Williams's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Okeechobee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Liscomb, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Okeechobee's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Cardinal Newman, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
