Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cedar Falls

Cedar Falls waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-46 W against the Hempstead Mustangs. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Mustangs are ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cedar Falls' win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Hempstead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Cedar Falls will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hempstead: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on February 22nd.
