Soccer Recap: Northumberland Takes a Loss

Northumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the King William Cavaliers. Northumberland were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as King William apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Northumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for King William, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northumberland will square off against Westmoreland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northumberland will be up against Westmoreland's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.88 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for King William, they will face off against King & Queen Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
