Corey Burts commands the offense for a Stallions win

Recap: Williamsburg Academy Stallions vs. Florence Christian Eagles

The Williamsburg Academy Stallions put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Florence Christian with a 52-47 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Williamsburg Academy has scored all year.

Williamsburg Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Corey Burts out in front who scored 16 points. The contest was Burts' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wes Smith, who scored 14 points.

Florence Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Greene and Dylan Greene. Greene dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Greene scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Greene scored a full 34% of Florence Christian's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jameson Berry was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Florence Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Williamsburg Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Florence Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 2-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williamsburg Academy will face off against Lee Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
