Soccer Game Preview: Dardanelle vs. Clarksville

The Dardanelle Sand Lizards will square off against the Clarksville Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Dardanelle is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Gentry just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw. The result kept Dardanelle happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 18th.

Meanwhile, Clarksville waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Clarksville, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Clarksville pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. Dardanelle's draw gives them a new season record of 11-3-1.

Dardanelle was able to grind out a solid win over Clarksville when the teams last played back in April, winning 5-3. Will the Sand Lizards repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
