Softball Recap: Poynette Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Poynette got themselves on the board against West Salem on Saturday, but West Salem never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Panthers. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Poynette is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Salem, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Poynette will venture away from home to square off against Lakeside Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Salem, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-7 victory against Waterford on the 26th.
