Basketball Game Preview: Mount Horeb Vikings vs. Edgewood Crusaders

The Mount Horeb Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Edgewood Crusaders at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mount Horeb will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Mount Horeb will head into Saturday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Greendale on Saturday. Everything went Mount Horeb's way against Greendale as Mount Horeb made off with a 78-53 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Panthers are ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Edgewood came up short against Lakeside Lutheran on Monday and fell 67-59. The game marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mount Horeb pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.1 points per game. As for Edgewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Mount Horeb strolled past Edgewood when the teams last played back in February by a score of 65-49. Will Mount Horeb repeat their success, or does Edgewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
