Preview: Central Rebels vs. MICDS Rams
The Central Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the MICDS Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central comes in on five and the Rams on seven.
Central put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North County 88-35 at home. With Central ahead 53-24 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Jobe Bryant was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five assists and four steals. Bryant is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zack Boyd, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, even though Eureka scored an imposing 55 points two weeks ago, MICDS still came out on top. MICDS skirted past the Wildcats 57-55. Given MICDS's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Wildcats are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.3 points per game. As for MICDS, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Central didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Rams when the teams last played back in March of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-52 win. Will Central repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
