Softball Recap: Dupont Manual Has No Trouble Against Jeffersonville

DuPont Manual lost to Jeffersonville back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Crimsons blew past the Red Devils 18-4. The Crimsons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

DuPont Manual let Payton Russell and Sophie Bynum run wild. Russell went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while Bynum got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Bynum has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Takenzie Young, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

DuPont Manual hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

DuPont Manual's record now sits at 13-5. As for Jeffersonville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

When DuPont Manual and Jeffersonville next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Crimsons will try to stop Nelson County's five-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (DuPont Manual 3.8, the Cardinals 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Jeffersonville will challenge Corydon Central and their eight-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
