Baseball Game Preview: Noble Knights vs. Marshwood Hawks

Noble is 2-7 against Marshwood since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Knights will welcome the Hawks at 3:00 p.m.

Noble fell victim to South Portland and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Riots. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noble got a good showing from Logan Kumar, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marshwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Deering on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

Gus Alexander tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Michael Sbrizza, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Reimels, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Marshwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Deering only posted an OBP of .387.

Noble now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Marshwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
