South Kingstown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 31-19 victory over the East Providence Townies on Friday. South Kingstown's win was all the more impressive since the Townies were averaging only 12.8 points allowed on the season.

Derek Cook had a dynamite game for South Kingstown, rushing for 133 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Dante Peno was in the mix as well, providing South Kingstown with two touchdowns.

South Kingstown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

South Kingstown wouldn't let East Providence keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. South Kingstown can thank Noah O'Hagan and Peno for forcing both of them.

The victory (which was South Kingstown's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.6 points per game. As for East Providence, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

South Kingstown will face off against West Warwick at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. South Kingstown's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so West Warwick's offense will have their work cut out for them. East Providence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
