Fairfield Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Fisher Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Irish at 5:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Meanwhile, Fisher Catholic waltzed into their game on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 12-8.
Lauren Kersell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off 13 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Beauseau and Harper Kline did most of the damage at the plate: Beauseau went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Kline went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave Beauseau a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Brue, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Fisher Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive matchups.
Fisher Catholic pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Fairfield Christian Academy, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-7.
Fairfield Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 19-1 loss they got from Fisher Catholic when the teams last played back in April. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
