Basketball Recap: Walthill's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Walthill won the last time they faced Homer and things went their way on Friday too. The Walthill Blujays came out on top against the Homer Knights by a score of 73-63.

Despite the loss, Homer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reed Modlin went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Modlin has scored all season. Axton Caskey was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Walthill's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Homer, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Walthill will be taking part in a tournament against Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Walthill is facing Randolph at the right time seeing as Randolph is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Homer, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-35 victory against Winside on the 1st.
