Recap: Bridges Prep Buccaneers vs. Whale Branch Warriors
The Bridges Prep Buccaneers suffered their biggest loss since November 20, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 50-25 walloping at the hands of Whale Branch. Bridges Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Whale Branch apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Whale Branch found their leader in underclassman Zaria Coaxum, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coaxum has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Larmore Pryor, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Bridges Prep's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.2 points per game. As for Whale Branch, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-13 record this season.
Bridges Prep will head out on the road to challenge Bethune-Bowman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Whale Branch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Allendale-Fairfax at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Allendale-Fairfax will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
