Softball Recap: El Capitan Victorious

It was a Battle of the Birds when El Capitan faced off against Alchesay on Saturday. The El Capitan Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Alchesay Falcons a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Danni Waters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Emmie Tait was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-1. Tamara Timpson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-1.

El Capitan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win got El Capitan back to even at 3-3. As for Alchesay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

El Capitan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-2 defeat against Kingman on the 15th. As for Alchesay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 18-17 loss against San Carlos on the 11th.
