Pickens faced North Myrtle Beach in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Blue Flame came out on top against the Chiefs by a score of 2-0. The Blue Flame were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Chiefs, so the Blue Flame were just returning the favor.

Chesney Yates paced Pickens' offense, picking up seven kills. Yates got some help from Kaci Gillespie and her seven assists. Yates was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why North Myrtle Beach lost, don't look at Katlyn Powers. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs.
