Carmel entered their tilt with Batesville on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Greyhounds have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Carmel pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Batesville, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carmel will head out to face off against Cathedral at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Greyhounds 3.3, the Fighting Irish 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Batesville, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Dearborn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
