Softball Recap: Cesar Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar Chavez came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 18-2 to the Tolleson Wolverines. The Champions have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Mariah Flores made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Cesar Chavez's record is now 1-12. As for Tolleson, their record now sits at 15-4.

Looking ahead, Cesar Chavez will take on Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tolleson, they will face off against Sunnyslope at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.46 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of.
