Softball Recap: Alden Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Alden barely beat Eden the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Raiders 16-5 on Thursday. 16 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Brooklyn Jankowski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Sawyer Faso was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Alden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .385 or higher in eight consecutive matches.

Alden's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9 runs thus far. As for Eden, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alden will challenge East Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eden, they will face off against Tonawanda at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
