Football Game Preview: Highland Tech Rams vs. Burns Bulldogs + How To Watch

Highland Tech hasn't had much luck against Burns recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Highland Tech has given up an average of 51 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Highland Tech came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against West Lincoln, falling 61-13. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-13.

Meanwhile, Burns waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Ironmen 38-6. Considering the Bulldogs have won four games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Burns' win came from a few key players Highland Tech will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Romelo Wells, who rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards. Those 53 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jorian Ussery, who picked up 84 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Burns was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Burns didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Niquan Marble and Armani Littlejohn. Markalen Jhamir Camp was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Burns' win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Highland Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Highland Tech was dealt a bruising 56-8 defeat at the hands of Burns in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 44-8.
