Volleyball Recap: San Mateo Triumphs

After losing to Summit Shasta the last time they met, San Mateo decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The San Mateo Bearcats came out on top against the Summit Shasta Black Bears by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.

Aaron Guo paced San Mateo's offense, picking up 12 kills. Guo got some help from Grant Greenburg and his 28 assists. Guo was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

San Mateo's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Summit Shasta, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

San Mateo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Harker on the 8th. As for Summit Shasta, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
