Metamora has gone 8-2 against Pekin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Redbirds will head out to take on the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Metamora's pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so Pekin's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Metamora earned a 5-1 victory over Mt. Zion. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redbirds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pekin). Everything went their way against Morton on Tuesday as they made off with a 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won four matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Zoe Lindahl was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Lindahl was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Beckham, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lily Towery, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Pekin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pekin's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-3. As for Metamora, their record is now 11-4.

Metamora was able to grind out a solid win over Pekin in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Will the Redbirds repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
