Softball Preview: Hoover Tornados vs. Muir Mustangs

Hoover has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Muir Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Hoover suffered a rough 13-3 defeat at the hands of Westridge.

Hoover saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paola Cano, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Hoover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westridge only posted an OBP of .343.

Meanwhile, Muir didn't have quite enough to beat Burbank last Thursday and fell 4-2. Muir has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Abigail (Abi) Milton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

Hoover now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Muir, their record is now 11-7.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Hoover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. However, it's not like Muir struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
