Game recap: Central Cabarrus High School Football Team wins against East Rowan

SALISBURY, N.C. - Central Cabarrus (Concord, N.C.) jumped out to an early lead against East Rowan (Salisbury, N.C.) and never looked back on the way to a 48-21 victory on Saturday.

The Vikings put up 14 points in the opening quarter. Central Cabarrus scored on a Kenny Purvis touchdown run and a touchdown run by Purvis.

After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, CC led 35-7 at the half.

The Concord school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Vikings scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.



With the win Central Cabarrus extended its winning streak to four games. The loss was the third in a row for the Mustangs.

East Rowan (3-7) will play a 3A Conference 7 game against South Rowan next week, while Central Cabarrus (9-1) will take on Northwest Cabarrus also in a 3A Conference 7 game.
