Volleyball Recap: Burns Bulldogs vs. Cherryville Ironmen
After flying high against Shelby last Wednesday, Burns came back down to earth. The Burns Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherryville Ironmen on Monday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ironmen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21.
Burns has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Cherryville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Burns will welcome East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherryville has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Thomas Jefferson on the 8th.
