            After each having a week off, the Jefferson Dragons and the Cherokee Bluff Bears will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Jefferson is coming into the  game hot, having won their last three games.
Jefferson's defense heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  last Friday. They claimed a resounding  54-0 win over East Hall. Considering the Dragons have won four matchups by more than 27  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, while it was Cherokee Bluff who put the first  points on the board last Friday, it was Monroe Area who put up more. The Bears took  a  28-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Purple Hurricanes. The  game marked the Bears' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.
Although Cherokee Bluff took the loss, they still got scores from  Huddie Kemp and  Cooper Dean.
 Cherokee Bluff didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Brett Pierce and  Dylan Haley.
 Cherokee Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
 Jefferson strolled past Cherokee Bluff when the teams last played  back in November of 2024 by a score of  42-28. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bears'  Brooks Brien, who threw for 295 yards and a pair of  TDs, and also punched in one  score on the ground.
