Baseball Recap: Green Hope Takes a Loss

If Green Hope was riding high fresh off their 17-10 takedown of Panther Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Apex Friendship Patriots by a score of 7-5 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 last Friday.

Mason Dean was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Troy Haynes was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Green Hope has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Apex Friendship, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Green Hope has already played their next contest, a 6-3 defeat against Laney on the 2nd. As for Apex Friendship, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-4 win against Tuscola on the 2nd.
