Softball Recap: Skyline Grizzlies vs. Blackfoot Broncos

After flying high against Bonneville on Wednesday, Skyline came back down to earth. The Skyline Grizzlies fell just short of the Blackfoot Broncos by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Skyline of the 10-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.

Ellie Whitworth was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. Remi Brown was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Skyline was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with four doubles. That's the most doubles they've managed all season.

On Blackfoot's side, Emma McGuire was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Sela Christiansen, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Blackfoot, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.

As of now, neither Skyline nor Blackfoot have any future games scheduled.
