Volleyball Recap: Marion Local Has No Trouble Against Fort Recovery

Marion Local barely beat Fort Recovery the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Flyers put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Flyers yet this season.

One reason for the win was Marion Local's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-13, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion Local to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emersyn Mescher, who had 21 assists and five digs. That's the most digs Mescher has posted over her last three contests. Kendyl Hess was another key player, getting ten digs.

Marion Local was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Recovery only served four aces.

The win made it two in a row for Marion Local and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Fort Recovery, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Marion Local wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Russia on the 2nd. As for Fort Recovery, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Arcanum on the 30th.
