Basketball Recap: Taylor County Comes Up Short

Taylor County was the 34-27 winner over Hamilton County when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylor County Bulldogs fell just short of the Hamilton County Trojans by a score of 37-35 on Monday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hamilton County was led to victory by Lauren Brown and Tramial Jackson. Brown made all 7 shots she took to post 14 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Jackson made all 6 shots she took for 14 points and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of Hamilton County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cherish Suttton, who posted nine points.

Taylor County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6. As for Hamilton County, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.

Taylor County has already played their next contest, a 69-12 defeat against Godby on the 15th. As for Hamilton County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-44 loss against Branford on the 14th.
