Preview: Brookville Blue Devils vs. National Trail Blazers
The Brookville Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the National Trail Blazers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Brookville suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Milton-Union. Brookville has not had much luck with Milton-Union recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Brookville got a solid performance out of Ashlee Haupt, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, National Trail's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-37 loss at the hands of Tri-Village. While losing is never fun, National Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 659th, while Tri-Village is ranked 107th).
Brookville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for National Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Brookville came out on top in a nail-biter against National Trail in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, sneaking past 36-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brookville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
